Alagnak River Wildlife For those who enjoy nature and
the outdoors, SW Alaska provides an excellent opportunity to view and photograph
many species in their natural wilderness environment. Bears, moose, and bald eagles
are always the main attractions, but the region offers plenty of other species,
including caribou, beaver, wolves and over 150 bird species.
Always have your camera ready, whether in the lodge or on the river. The excellent views from the lodge, in particular from the upstairs porches, result in many sightings.
Moose are seen less commonly than bears, but are often seen swimming the river, or grazing in meadows along the banks.
