Travel Arrangements:

We suggest making your flight reservations as soon as possible, since flights during the peak summer season can fill quickly.

You will need to fly from your home to Anchorage, and then from Anchorage to the town of King Salmon Alaska. Most major airlines fly to Anchorage. You will need to be in Anchorage the evening before you are scheduled to fly into the lodge, and plan to spend the night there. Then you will need to take an early flight from Anchorage to King Salmon the next morning. The alternative is to fly all the way into King Salmon the day before arriving at the lodge, and overnight in King Salmon.

Most flights between Anchorage and King Salmon are operated by Peninsula Air. Alaska Air typically has 1 flight daily to King Salmon, but is often in the afternoon and therefore inconvenient for arriving at the lodge unless you plan to fly in to King Salmon a day early and overnight there.

We suggest that you let us book the flights between Anchorage and King Salmon for you. Pen Air gives us a special fixed fare that is very competitive, usually less than published fares. Additionally, unlike published fares, the tickets we book are both fully changeable and fully refundable without penalty.

Once you arrive in King Salmon, we will meet you at the airport and fly you to the lodge by float plane. If you are making your own reservations, please make sure you arrive in King Salmon no later than 10 am. Late arrivals may cause an additional charge if you miss the float plane flight to the lodge.

On departure day, we will return you to King Salmon by float plane late morning. If you are making your own reservations, please do not schedule a departure out of King Salmon before 1pm, as it is likely that we will not be able to get you to town in time for your flight. A mid afternoon departure time from King Salmon is ideal, if you schedule a later departure, you may have a few hours of waiting in town.

If you would like us to make your Pen Air reservations for you, or for any other assistance with your travel arrangements, please contact us at (800) 877-9903, or at +1 540 347 4948 from outside the US, or by email.

If you would like a travel agent to help with your flights to Anchorage and/or hotels in Anchorage, we recommend Alaska Wilderness Travel in Anchorage at (800) 544-2236. As well as air travel and hotels, they can assist with side trips to other parts of Alaska.
