ALASKA SIGHT-SEEING & PHOTOGRAPHY
Sight-Seeing and Photography Opportunities at Alagnak Lodge
The Bristol Bay has so much more to offer than world-class fishing, with spectacular wilderness scenery and abundant and varied wildlife. Both the casual and serious photographer will enjoy the photographic opportunities of the region.
Wild and Scenic Alagnak River
In 1980, the Alagnak River was given the designation of “wild” as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers system, and offers plentiful opportunities for sight seeing and photography. The wildlife in particular provides ample opportunity for the outdoor photographer. Bear, moose, eagles and beavers are just some of the species we commonly see.
World Famous Brooks Falls
As well as the opportunities for sight seeing and photography on the Alagnak, we are also nearby to the world-famous Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, which can be accessed by fly out from the lodge.
You can access a Brooks Falls webcam here: http://explore.org/#!/live-cams/player/brown-bear-salmon-cam-brooks-falls.
The cam is offline in the winter months but shows footage from the summer.
“This is our 2nd trip to the lodge. Both of us would like to thank the staff for a most memorable trip…we’ll serve as testament to anyone for a wonderful and memory-rich fishing trip”
